The beginning of Ecclesiastes 3 reads: “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven- time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.” …And so on.

For myself, and following in that thought, I would say: “A time to start a webcomic and a time to stop a webcomic.”

I’ve been posting From Nothing for just over a year, and it’s been fun, but it’s time to turn my attentions elsewhere.

There are two main reasons… First, between my growing responsibilities at my job, a three hour daily commute, and my responsibilities to family, church, and life in general, finding time to meet a weekly webcomic schedule is increasingly difficult.

And second, I’m feeling the urge to stretch my creative wings. From Nothing provided me a way to express my thoughts, but it wasn’t the place to push my skills, to see what I am really capable of as an illustrator. I’d like to use what little time I have exploring that more.

That doesn’t mean I will never do another strip, I certainly might, but it will be on a strictly blue moon basis. The every Monday schedule is simply impossible at this stage of life.

So, friends, it’s been a blast. I’ll be FaceBooking and Twittering on occasion if I come up with something cool, or have a stray thought or two, but outside of that I’m signing off… for now.

May the God Who Provides bless you all to overflowing, may His peace fill your hearts, and may the saving name of His One and Only Son spread like wildfire.
