I once heard it said that the assembling of a group of such remarkable men as the Founders can be seen as an act of God. I tend to agree.
The remarkable bravery of George Washington and his ability to lead men against an overwhelming force, the gift of Patrick Henry to speak and make the hearts of men swell, the soaring intellects and driving passions of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson… these were gifted men of conviction, and action.
None of the Fathers had to do what they did, and had they been caught, their opposition to British rule would have cost them their very lives. But they chose to fight for a dream that, through the providence of God, became the greatest nation in the world. And for that I am extremely thankful.
Oh, how we need men cut from that cloth today.
Happy Independence Day, all!
